Neuropsychology consists of a battery of tests which can be used to test specific functional areas of the brain.  Such tests are used to evaluate the effects of brain injury as a guide for therapy in patients with stroke, brain tumors, or traumatic injuries.

Neurophysiology
SDNDS has specialists in neurophysiology for the electrodiagnostic evaluation of disorders of the nervous system and monitoring of patients during operative treatment and post-operative follow up. These tests include EMG (electromyogram), EEG (electroencephalogram), and various types of nerve conduction studies, such as DSEP (dermatomal somatosensory evoked potential), VEP (visual evoked potential), and BAEP (brainstem auditory evoked potential). Monitoring is also done during surgical procedures to assure the safety of the patient.
