Rehabilitation is generally concerned with the restoration to the best possible functioning state after serious illness or injury. Rehabilitation therapy includes various combinations of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and psychosocial supportive therapy. Pain management is generally practiced in a multi-specialty environment where rehabilitative therapists, anesthesiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons and behaviorists collectively participate in tailoring various treatment protocols for the management of patients with chronic pain syndromes.
